Hoping to get some reassurance because apparently I was completely wrong about entering Thailand via air and there being no limit.
I am a U.S citizen. I arrived in Thailand January 6th '24 and got a 30 day stamp/visa extempt. I extended 30 days later. Before the 60 days were up, I left for Japan for 2 weeks.
After Japan I came back to Thailand and did the same thing... Got 30 days on arrival, arrived by air. (Went to Seoul for about 7 days). Extended and before 60 days I just left today.
I'm currently in Vietnam for 2 nights and coming back to Thailand this Wed.
I read numerous articles online that claimed as long as you arrive by air, immigration doesn't care how many times you come into Thailand on a visa extempt.
I just read a Facebook post, ppl are denied the 3rd time they do this.
Has anyone experienced this or know of anyone who has??
Our son (Swiss) and his girlfriend (US) are visiting us here on Phuket for 5 weeks. Do they have to be reported by our Landlord at Immigration (TM30)? They entered the country visa-free for 30 days and would like to extend for another 30 days. Do they need the TM30 for this?
I used to live in Chiang Mai back when endless visa runs were a thing. Well, they were just starting to crack down, so I did have to start going to Lao and get a visa there.
Anyways I am 30 and not wealthy or anything. And was planning to move to SEA with my partner. Is Thailand still in any way a viable option?
Even if there is an affordable 3-6 month option I would be curious to hear what the situation is nowadays
I’ll pin this post for a while but I’m not sure it’ll help. (Not sure who actually reads the pinned posts).
Almost ALL short term visa/entry related questions can only be answered correctly by knowing your passport country. Without knowing what that is it’s just speculation (and quite often wrong answers are given).
When posting a question please ensure you include your passport country.
