An airfares question. Looking at airfares from Melbourne to Thailand yesterday. Why would Thai Airways fares (Melbourne - Bangkok - Melbourne) for next month, still high season in Thailand, be approx $950 in February, then in June, low season for Thailand, be around $1300+ climbing to $1900+ in July? Advise used to be to book early, but fares can hardly rise further. I paid $1300 to go in June last year, and the plane was full in both directions. Does the fact that it's high season mid year in Europe impact fares to SEA from Australia? Other airlines are similarly high and low in the same months. Thinking of holding off booking till a month before I travel in the hope that fares may drop (given the low fare for next month), but don't recall spare seats in June and July of last year on the same route. Hoping someone might be able to provide an answer or some insight.
Update: I figured out the problem. What a royal mess. So, despite the fact that obviously the country code comes before the phone number in terms of fields on the page, the country code must be chosen AFTER the phone number in order for the phone number to be accepted. Makes perfect sense, right? Pete wins! "Clunky" is an understatement. I discovered this by trying to change the country code to Thailand thinking maybe it simply didn't like the U.S. (kidding...sort of) then switching it back...voila. It worked.

ok, this falls under the "everything else" category.
For months, I've been having prhoblem after problem after problem with the AirAsia website. The most recent is today and I'm wondering if any other Americans (meaning folks still having a U.S. phone number and/or emergency contacts in the U.S.) have run into the same and, if so, what they've done to work around it.
The website will not accept my cell phone nor that of my daughter as being valid mobile numbers. As a result, I cannot book a ticket. This is urgent as I'm trying to book a ticket for Tuesday. For those who might say, "Just try another airline". VietJet's website won't do a search at all for the dates I'm trying, even though third party sites say there are flights and the app won't open without an error, lol. It seems someone doesn't want me to take this flight (maybe a sign?).
Thanks to anyone who may have encountered this and be able to share a solution. I could not think of where else to ask, because AirAsia has taken weeks to respond to previous inquiries.
