Hello does anyone know if i could apply tourist visa in vientienne, laos? Im currently on a visa exempt and I am thinking on my next border run to apply. Im wondering what is the cost also, since back in philippines, where I hold residency it is free of cost.

I will concur 🙂 that consulate is a no nonsense consulate and they've made people who didn't have lodging booked for the whole 60 days a tourist visa is good for BOOK more days lodging before they would accept the visa application. 😮

Vientiane has a very strict protocol to obtain a visa, be sure to read and comply with all the requirements for your tourist visa beforehand and you'll get your visa in 3 days.

These are the countries that get FREE visas to thailand (no matter what consulate they go to)

Notice that Philippines ONLY get free visa if they get a visa for 59 days or less and a tourist visa is for 60 days 😮 I called two visa run companies (one that specializes in taking pinoyz to get visas and they said 1000 baht tourist visa at both Vientiane and Savannakhet)

okay as a philippino you get IN to Lao free <- meaning you don't buy a visa on arrival like most countries do.

However you don't get a visa to thailand for free from the consulate there. It's still 1000baht for a single entry tourist visa like it is for most countries

I have read it, but that's on paper. That's why i asking based on your knowledge/experience. In my home country, in paper said 5 working days but it can be more than 5 wd or less than 5 wd depend on queue

That consulate runs exactly like they post they do 🙂

It's 3 working days counting the day you apply to get your passport back

So if there are NO holidays;

Apply Monday morning, get the passport Wednesday afternoon

apply Thursday morning, get the passport next Monday afternoon,

apply Friday morning get the passport next Tuesday afternoon.

right, single entry tourist visa from either thai consulate in Lao (Vientiane or Savannakhet) is 1000 baht, the VISA is valid for 3 months <- meaning you have that long to ENTER thailand and when you do you'll get stamped in for 60 days
