Is it now possible to do a border bounce at Friendship BridgeIV (Huayxay Bokeo Thailand) on the same day? I realize this is often asked, but uncertain of current regulations...
I have made this run several times from Chaing Rai earlier last year, but have heard that later there was a mandatory 2 day stay on Laos side at some of the entry points.
Recently someone mentioned from August 2024 when you do a visa run to Laos you must stay 2 nights and are not allowed to come back same day even on a “O” visa.

Issues at the land border crossings with Lao in Chiang Rai province (Chiang Saen/SEZ and Chiang Khong/Huay Xai)
I deleted the last post :O as now getting new information from the border run companies
BOTH land borders in Chiang Rai province are requiring people stay out of thailand Chiang Saen says overnight and Chiang Khong says 2 nights out
They are saying it's an order from the immigration dept :/
Sorry to have posted sketchy info. This is the latest we have. If you're up in the Northwest of Thailand and need to bounce you should plan on being IN Lao a day or two.
At this time NO other land borders are are affected...
I have just read rumors that at Laos land borders (Chiang Sean & Chiang Khong) they are currently enforcing a minimum two nights stay for a border bounce. Another made up “rule”? A Pai visa run agency reported so. Not sure if true. Just giving a heads-up. Any recent first hand experiences?
