Just came back from Laos land border a few days ago (2nd time this calendar year). As always, very nice police at this border crossing. He said this is your 2nd time, you will need a visa next time if your cross again. I confirmed (for the xxxth time) that arrivals via any airport are unlimited however. And I again mentioned my story to them (4th time?) that I was threatened with expulsion during last fall at Don Muang airport... for no reason other than apparently coming to Thailand often (their accusation of working illegally fell thru after they saw my money and business/bank records) and had to buy airport police a package of chocolate and buy an outgoing ticket to Vietnam while they watched... to see what they'd say and again (4th time?) the border police were shocked by this story. So I conclude that the Laos border police are some of the most "honest" ones doing their job and following the rules... I have never witnessed any corruption or rudeness at this border... but now it's time to figure out what's next, esp. with Coronavirus changing the rules and options we have practically on a daily basis... 🙄🤷♀️
