We want to leave the country and come back to get another stamp. Is it mandatory to be outside for some exact amount of time? Or we can just go back on the next day?
Looking for some advice or anyone with a similar experience.
I am holding a Singapore passport and have been in Thailand on an ED-Visa for the past year. As it will expire by this weekend, I have already cancelled it and left for Laos via land (chiang khong) today. My plan is to stay for 3 days and return to Thailand by land on Sunday.
Btw, I will be starting my thai language studies at chula in Jan 2025. Would this info be useful for the immigration to allow my re-entry? Chula has asked me to email them a copy of my entry stamp and they will prepare the paperwork for me to take to the immigration office to change my visa-exempt stamp to an ED-Visa stamp.
Will I face any issues when I pass through the Thai immigration? Will they have any extra requirements for me before I can re-enter? Eg. Cash, flight tickets...
I don't really get how many days are we supposed to type in? Since we have to leave and reenter every half year. What did you guys put in? That kinda confused me.
Hi all. Sorry for asking another question. Im just a bit confused with all the info online and cant seem to get a straight answer. We are in Thailand (first family visit) for 60 days over December and January. We are from the UK so think we are visa free for this visit.
We then plan to visit Cambodia for a month (February) (travelling from Bangkok on coach). We are then thinking we will head back to a different part of Thailand for another 30-60 days. (March-April)
Can we do this? Do we have to get out of Thailand for longer than 30 days before we re-enter again? Will I need a visa for out 2nd visit? I read something about only being in Thailand for so many days in 6 months/1 year. Would these 2 visits take us over that limit?
Hi Everyone. There has been lots of assumptions regarding this visa. You should be aware that Ministry of Foreign affairs who came up with this visa are not necessarily the party involved in enforcing how immigration works. That is up to Thai Immigration. In practice, immigration matters and how it is implemented is entirely up to immigration.
For example, there’s talk of extensions. Yes it is intended by ministry of FA for this visa to be renewable while in Thailand, mechanisms of how this will work will be ultimately be down to Immigration. So they may ask for relevant documents again at time of renewal or even re-entry. Got this visa with soft power? Will you be able to re-enter after 180 days or renew when that Maui Thai class is long finished? Who knows. Best answer you should accept at this point is that no one knows. Not even immigration.
If my visa in my passport says "valid until 28 Aug 2024" does that mean I can leave Thailand on Aug 28 then come back a few hours later on Aug 28 and get given 90 plus days on arrival? (it's multiple entry). Or is that taking the piss in the eyes of immigration?
