I'm currently on a student visa and I want to get a multiple re-entry permit. If I get the multiple re-entry permit will it be carried across all of my visa extensions? E.g. If I get the permit and then renew my visa, will it still be valid after the renewal? And if so, how many times?
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The re-entry permit is valid only for your current visa stamp and does not carry over to a new visa after renewal. Once you renew your student visa, you'll need to obtain a new re-entry permit if you wish to leave and re-enter Thailand.
Iβd just like to comment that reentry permit stamps are huge and basically take up a whole page in your passport, something to consider when deciding on a single or multiple and your passport is looking skinny on pages.
haha that's okay. It'd my first passport. So it's blank

Update: my university said they can give me a 1year extension. So there'll only be 1 extension, so I won't have to worry about getting multiple re-entry permits for each extension
many universities can indeed get a one-year extension of stay on an education Visa it's the private schools that do it 90 days at a time so once the o/p gets their year extension they can buy a multiple reentry permit and enter exit the country all they want during the validity of that extension
That depends on how many times you will leave and back during the extended year. If you foresee it will be quite often (say more than 3 times), itβs still better to get a multiple re-entry permit. If not that many times, u can get a single re-entry permit every time before you leave the kingdom.

Nope, doesn't work like that π
A re-entry permit is valid for your current stamp ONLY. π
