Penang Malaysia DTV

Your visa application has been cancelled. We regrettably need to cancel your application because you have no residence in Malaysia.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports that their visa application at the Penang consulate was cancelled due to lack of residence in Malaysia. In the comments, users discuss necessary documentation for application approval, questions about the submission location, and differing policies between consulates. It is noted that for certain nationalities, it's recommended to apply through their home country or at the Kuala Lumpur consulate if they lack residency, which could extend processing times.

Did you submit your address in Malaysia, all your passport pages and remain in Malaysia for the decision
John *******
What is your nationality? The Penang consulate webpage lists nationalities that should apply for visas in their home counties and if they want to apply in Malaysia, that it would take 4+ weeks (if you don’t have residency) and you should apply via the KL consulate (not Penang)

- Indian nationals can only apply through the Penang consulate if they have residency status in Malaysia. Otherwise, they have to apply through the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur. This was the OPs error.
