Currently in Bkk with an ED visa that expired last week but covered by the amnesty till 31 July or border reopening.
I found a job and I am waiting to be able to get out of the country to a border embassy, make my B visa and get back to BKK.
Does anyone know if crossing by land is possible to Lao, Malaysia or Cambodia please ?
Any agency doing runs actually ?
I would have waited than planes and airport reopens but my employer tells me that land border crossing could be possible ?
Many thanks for information.
Bests,
T

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Bangkok is currently on an expired ED visa, which is extended under an amnesty until July 31. They are inquiring if they can cross the land border to Laos, Malaysia, or Cambodia to obtain a B visa and if any agencies are facilitating such trips. Responses indicate that land border crossings for non-natives are not generally permitted for visa purposes during this time, although there are some exceptions for work permits and goods. Additionally, there are mixed opinions on whether the border crossings are open, with many suggesting that they currently are not.
I had my answer by another Way. Land border crossing open for goods (except eggs and masks) and for natives and some case for work permit. But not for people non natives that wants to get a visa ๐

Hi Thomas, Iโm currently on an ED due for an extension later this month.
Can you share with me where you found the info regarding amnesty on an ED visa?
So far Iโve read itโs only Tourist visas/exemptions.
it is not clear what will happen to people who have allowed their long stay visas to lapse rather than doing an extension. There is much speculation. But it is possible that such people will have to return to their country of origin, visit a neighbouring country for a new visa. This is why people whose long stay visas are still valid and can extend, are being advised to do so, unless they were planning to leave at the end of July anyway
the visa agent of my company says that he could obtain an exception for me to get non B without exiting country if I were on Tourist visa but than I need to exit cause I was on ED and heโs not able to obtain the exception in that case.
