I have a non migrant B visa finishing 15th of March and I quit my job end of february so they refused to do the paperwork for longer...
I would like to stay at least one more month for tourism and maybe looking for a new job.
How can i do this ?
Thanks a lot

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a situation where their Non-Immigrant B visa, which is valid until March 15, will end due to their job termination at the end of February. They seek advice on how to remain in Thailand for tourism and potential job searching afterward. The responses indicate that once the work permit is canceled, the stay permit linked to the visa also expires, leading to an automatic overstay situation if not addressed promptly. Various suggestions are made, including leaving Thailand before the work permit cancellation and re-entering with a visa-exempt stamp for a further 60 days.
Ok, i got it. So basically. My works not legal somehow. But i can leave without problem before 16 march. This is it ? I ve been here only 1 month and half
exactly. You are working illegally. The stay permit remains valid, but if you get caught working without a work permit, you will get arrested, court fined, deported and blacklisted.
this is your "stay permit" stamp. The visa itself became invalid on entry, because it was a single-entry visa type. It can't be used for another entry. You are inside Thailand on a 90-days saty permit. . . . . .however, something here indicates a BIG misunderstanding . . . . you are NOT ALLOWED to start working, unless you have been issued a work permit by the Labour Department. If you think you can work on a job contract from your employer, you are terribly wrong and you are acting illegally

the stay permit issued under an Non-Imm-B visa will expire the very moment your work permit gets cancelled. If you stay inside Thailand after your work permit has been cancelled, you will be on OVERSTAY ! Beware, NEVER let this happen! An application for an extension will be refused by Immigration. They will make you pay 1900 THB and give you a stamp "application for extension denied, you have 7 days to leave the kingdom". Thus, it is better you exit Thailand on the day your work permits gets cancelled, stay in the neighbour country for a day or two and re-enter Thailand visa-exempt. As a French citizen, you will get stamped in for 60 days

a job contract is not a work permit. A work permit can only get issued by the Thai Labour Department, and not by your employer
so you said you have a "job contract" but no work permit? But you have already worked on that job? You should be aware that this is illegal. Don't tell anybody. You should NEVER have started on that job without a work permit from the Labour Department

But i dont know when they will cancell the work permit
that 16th of March stay permit is directly connected to the work permit. If you are on a 1-year extension of stay, and your work permit gets cancelled, this stay permit will become void instantly ! This stay permit will only remain valid if you are still on the initial 90-days Non-Immigrant-B visa
you got STAMPED "admitted until March 16" and this stamp is your stay permit, the one you received when you entered on a 90-days Non-B visa. The visa is already expired and void, you are inside Thailand on a stay permit

Le travail termine le 28 fevrier. Mais le stamp sur mon passeport est du 16 mars. Donc je pensais partir le 15 mars. Ok ? đ€
1. Yes, if you are on the initial 90 day stamp that has not been extended, you can stay until the 15th.
2. No, if you are on an extension of stay, meaning after your initial stamp on arrival, you since extended the visa at immigration within the country.
If I understand correctly, you can absolutely stay through your initial 90 stamp regardless of whether youâre working or not.

Tu as 7 jours pour sortir... Sans qu'il t'embĂȘtent... Fais un border run and rentre de nouveau avec 60 j. C'est ce que je te conseille de faire.. Pas d'autres choix

you seem to be a French citizen, you can enter Thailand visa exempt and get stamped in for 60 days

it depends on your passport country, if you can re-enter visa-exempt after you have left Thailand before your recent stay permit expires. Here is a list of the countries whose citizens can get a 60-days visa-exempt stay permit

It s okay. Thank you everyone. I will leave the 15th for good.
Regarding this illegal work, i mean you have to a bit pragmatic and realistic, when you begin a job you have trial time for both employe and boss, then there is the 4 weeks delay for work permit and papers...
So this
Illegal
Is a little bit over the top.
Basically things didnt fonction as expected on both sides !
this is complete bullshit - there is NOTHING such as a trial time without an official work permit! You are being lied to by your employer. You are getting scammed, and you are at HIGH risk getting arrested, fined, put into the detention center and deported on your own expenses and blacklisted from returning to Thailand. Stop being so utterly naive!
i m quite naive person, true. But pay your respect please. I think you need a bit more detachment an pragmatism. I just quited my job few days before they send the papers for a work permit of 8 000 bath... so we agreed i ll finish naturally the last month like this by respect.
It s quite polite agreement somehow. I dont have any affection actually for this country so i dont mind being black listed !
then you can stay until March 15th. If you have an activity on March 16th, you could apply for an extension of stay without the required documentation. They'll deny the extension, but you'll get 7 days of leniency.
Do it on the last possible day, which in your case is March 14th. You'll get 7 days starting that day, so then March 20th will be your last. So it takes you only 5 days over the 15th, but if you're helped out with exactly that, just go for it.
you realize that this âillegalâ path is the overall general policy for almost every Thai company in the country? Itâs the employer who insists the employee works illegally. Itâs Thais who are forcing foreigners to work illegally.
your accusation that "this âillegalâ path is the overall general policy for almost every Thai company in the country" . . . .. is so f...g racist, xenophobic and a lie. If you really believe in this rubbish, you shouldn't be in Thailand
how is the truth racist? Itâs certainly not xenophobic. Itâs neither. How is it a lie?
Thai employers will not process immigration paperwork that follows the rules. Employees must work through their first months of their employment without work permits. And you think this isnât true?
Whereas in China, the visas must be fully processed BEFORE you even enter the country to work.
How could you be so blind to reality?
And why did you turn so damn hostile? Tom foolery?
that doesn't change a Yota from the fact that if a foreigner works illegally, he can get arrested, fined, and deported on his own expenses, and blacklisted from returning to Thailand. Mrs. Camille Ganga is an adult who can make her own decision, nobody is forced to work illegally
your wires are crossed. It is YOU who is breaking the law. I will end this fruitless discussion with you right now, because you are stubborn and naive. Good Luck - you will need it
well, they are actually. Thousands everyday are. And it was the same for nearly every working foreigner in the country. Should they all be rounded up and deported.
If youâve ever worked here, did you not have to go through the same process of breaking immigration and labour laws.
rubbish, blatantl rubbish. You should leave Thailand if you think that every Thai employer is such a bad human being. Your accusations and your opinion is so unbelievable. You surely had no education, and you know NOTHING about Thailand, you sound like somebody who comes here on a 2-week holiday and never shed the rose tinted glasses. Myself I HAVE BEEN working in Thailand, and always was treatened correctly and fair and legal
if you don't exit Thailand, you will be on overstay from the moment your stay permit expires. And it will expire the very moment you cancel the work permit. You cannot extend your stay inside Thailand - if you apply for an extension on Immigration, you will have to pay 1900.- THB and they will stamp your passport "application denied, you have 7 days to leave the kingdom". If you get arrested on overstay, you will be brought to the airport Detention Center and be forced to buy a one-way ticket back to your home country. Which way you do, is up to you, but the BEST way is, avoid to waste 1900 THB for the 7 days grace period and just exit and re-enter visa-exempt

Are you doing 90 reports, â... If so you are on an extension of stay for employment and the day your employment ends your permission to stay ends unless you pay for a 7 day extension for THB 1900 The you need to leave the country and come back
