Do I need to submit a new TM-30 to immigration after renewing my lease in Thailand?

When I renewed my lease last year the Rental Agency advised me to go to Immigration. When I went the girl at the TM30 desk told me that there is no need to report because my address hasn't changed. This was in Chiang Mai.

A TM30 must be submitted no later then 24 business hours after you start staying at the property. You will *NOT* need a new TM30 if you renew your lease. You *MAY* need a new TM30 if you stay at a hotel room, and then return to your condo (depending on the local immigration office).

Filing a TM30 is free.

Ask your local immigration office about their policy on filing a TM30 after you return from a trip. For Bangkok, they only want a TM30 filed after you return to Thailand from being overseas (if I remember correctly).
