My logic also says a person like me that is not a tourist must be able to open a bank account. But i wasn’t able to do so. My school agent attempted and i was told I got rejected. But some of you guys are telling me about opening a bank account so easily. I am just not sure if we are all in the same country. Or maybe things have changed for worse?

Yes and I am learning. anyways, knowing language wouldn’t assure being able to go inside bank and get money. Reading the comments of people here and in other other places, I see people who tried that and they were rejected and told to use ATM machines.

it’s not that. I just don’t find it appropriate to keep paying 220bhat for every withdrawal. THAT WAS OK if i were a short time tourist. But I’m not a tourist. I am living here and i’m on an education visa. I would have expected i would not be treated like a tourist and be able have a bank account or atleast some local digital wallets to let life going easier.

Let’s say I come and rob you in the street for 200bhat every-time I see you by forcing you to pay me. Now you got few options. Either to fight me back(and I’m an mma practitioner) , or find practical ways to either avoid me or report me.

But no, somebody is gonna tell you if you can’t afford that 200bhat that the guy is robbing you for, then go back home , instead of searching for possible solutions.

I went to krungsri atm and it gave me 20k since it rejected my 30k request. Then i went inside to ask about it why it is that way. It was such a hassle since none of staff even manager could talk english. So they handed me the phone to talk to English customer service representative of krungsri. And ofcourse nothing came out of that.

Well even though I had to put a fixed date in the visa application form, the school doesn’t really have a fixed date. Whenever you go there, you begin the class. So i am not missing anything. The only thing is whether immigration understand this explanation or not, hence i am asking here.
