what if he stays at the same place? Maybe tourism for him means spending 10.000 USD or more at Soy Cowboy and Nana Plaza with an occasional night in Pattaya for 60 days. Am I supposed to jump from island to island as a tourist now or what?

Do I need a visa extension if my visa expires before I depart Thailand?

You should get an extension. Overstays were tolerated, but I heard reports that they are starting to detain people on overstays at the airport making them miss their flights, or this is at least what the guy at Integrity Legal said last month. I would not risk overstaying, it’s not worth it.

Can I enter Thailand from Cambodia using my Australian emergency passport for a border run?

I was with an American family in Vietnam last month, they all lost their passports and wanted to go to Phnom Penh US Embassy for some reason with their emergency passports and we got on a bus, but at the border they were told they cannot enter Cambodia.
