Has anyone gone through the process of applying for a visa via the Thai E visa system from Laos? Any info on the processing time or whether there's maybe a better way to do it these days? 10-15 days processing time seems a bit too long to be hanging around up there. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone here gotten their DTV at Vientiane without an interview?
Just curious because I want to know the timeline before applying. Agents are telling me something completely different than what I've read in this group.
Also, they are checking bank statements? For security purposes I only do online banking on my laptop. Would I need to take my laptop for the interview?
My girlfriend is scheduled for a USA B2 VISA Appointment in Bangkok. She plans on being in the US about 2 weeks. She does not speak fluent English. I'm her travel partner who is a US Citizen and does not speak fluent Thai and at best minimal Thai.
It appears you cannot bring a smart phone into the interview room. That would eliminate both of us from using the smart phone to interpret the dialogue. And Eliminate me from the interview room to be of any value.
I read there are folks in Bangkok who are fluent in both English and Thai who will accompany a non English speaking person to the appointment.
Has anyone used or know of someone who has used that service and know the general cost?
We have a little over a month to get this together.
Last, are the a list of questions they ask that we could prepare for if we don't hire an interpreter? Maybe we can just do question practice testing.
If you apply for a DTV (in this case at the London embassy) whilst in the UK, do you need to remain in the country until the application is approved? It would be great to apply while home for Christmas but I’m worried about the processing time as I may only be home for a week.
So I applied for my DTV(workcation) in Frankfurt, Germany about two weeks ago. They called me in for an interview today, asked me for more details(from my employer ) which I will send them via an email they provided. However, they returned all my documents and my passport. Is this normal?
Does anyone have knowledge about medical exemptions to the visa interview process? I am a US citizen. My Thai girlfriend and I are expecting our daughter to be born in December. We would like to travel to the US in Febuary so that I can visit an immediate relative having health issues that involve surgery and doctors orders not to travel. The issue is that I can not travel or leave by girlfriends side, so she would have to come with me. Another issue is that the current wait time for an interview is 6 months, so our opportunity window to travel would be closed. We can only travel until July.
The last thing I want to do is upset a Visa officer, or make it look like we are trying to cut the line. I would hate to ruin our chances of getting a visa in the future. Any advice would really be greatly appreciated.
