I am a US citizen who has been working in Thailand on a non-B visa since September 2018. My re-entry visa expired on August 17th 2020 and unfortunately my employer failed to renew it prior to that date. My last 90 day check-in was completed on June 4th.
Normally I understand I would have to exit the country, reapply for a new non-B visa, and re-enter. But given the challenges of finding a flight back and forth to a country which I can enter with a US passport, it is unclear if I will be able to do so. I would obviously also like to avoid quarantining if possible.
So are there any options available for me to renew my non-B visa without leaving the country?
for those of us on amnesty ending 31 July and extended till 26 sept, for those planning on leaving - so is it confirmed we do not need to do anything at all and just leave ? thanks
Hypothetical question. I am currently on a Amnesty tourist visa. If a land border opens with a neighboring country, i could get another tourist visa (with the maximum of 2 entries per year). But could I visit a Thai embassy in that neighboring country to get my ED visa? I realize you are supposed to go to one in your own country. I ask because I am at Thai immagration and an agent suggested going to Laos (with visa to enter Laos) to go to the embassy. Any respectable responses welcome :)
Guys do u know how is working amnesty situation in countries around Thailand (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia)??? Can I go from Thailand to any of them even by bus?
May I ask one more time, because my last post had closed for commenting.
About amnesty. I went to CW and called them as well, about the 2nd step for amnesty as you advised.
Officers didn't stamp my passport. After that, an officer pointed at paper with new regulations.
I cancelled my non B and had got an extension for 28 days (ex. 5 May)
I'm not sure , if I am covered with amnesty policy. And should I insist on receiving a new stamp for no matter number of the days, I will be given ? Thank you, in advance
I went to immigration on the 7th to apply for an emergency extension based on covid. I got 20 days under consideration. They said I have to return on the 26th of April to get the additional 10. With the Amnesty, I dont have to return until April 30th or May 1st?
