Unfortunately, Phuket has developed into a gigantic industrial zone with beach access. Time to move on after 10 years in Rawai. If Khao Lak will be an alternative? We shall see…..

Can anyone suggest where in Phuket an old retired couple should stay on the island? Visiting 5 months. Looking for a place that you can walk around, has restaurants and a bit of a hub for tours near a beach. Some expats in the area would be good. Not too expensive.

So this is a long shot post, but I’m traveling to Phuket in a few weeks and I need to rent a car. My parents house is located in Rawai/Naiharn, and I was wondering if anyone knows any reliable car rental shops in that area? Or any shop recommendations? Hi I'm currently on a 60 day visa issued from the UK. How many days notice left would I need to apply for extension if stay based on retirement? I live in Rawai, would Chalong be the immigration office I would deal with, what paperwork would I need to submit? TIA
