Asking for advice on here because of all the smart ass answers but here goes. I'm married to a Thai woman who is in the states. I want to apply for a divorce of our Thai marriage. Can that be done without her presence?
What would be needed to register my marriage to a Thai woman in Thailand? We were married in America almost 4 years ago. We live in Ohio but she still owns a house in Nakhon Sawon. I know there is proof of marriage and other basic information but is there anything else I should know about? Thanks for the advice.
Hello. What's the best place to register a marriage in Bangkok. I went to Laksi, and they were asking too many questions, and want to see my bank account. I've never heard of that and not comfortable with sharing the information about my finances. Which district is the easiest and the least corrupt?)
I have used the search function and cannot find any info on this question: When one is on a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai wife, and the wife dies. What happens to the extension? Does the widower have to report to immigration immediately? Does the extension of stay remain valid until the end date stamped in the passport, which would give the widower time to change the reason from “married” to “retirement” or such, OR will it become invalid on the day of the demise of the wife?
I have a question regarding that 1yr extension of marriage. I know all about the 400k 2 month before in the bank account etc. However, do I have to enter Thailand with a 90 days Non O visa issued in my home country to be able to apply for that 1yr extension? Or can I enter with a TR visa, marry within those 2 months, apply for the 60 days extension based on marriage AND apply after that for the 1yr extension?
I ask, as German institutions are giving me a headache with their delays, so my original plan to marry next month and enter with the NON O in January won’t work.
Phuket sandbox drama Thailand edition is getting better! Head of the Phuket tourism association (whatever that is) said in an online interview today that only Thai women who were legally married to a foreigner would be allowed to share a bed with them during the sandbox.
The Thai powers that be quickly pulled that back and said, well, he said that but don't listen to it yet, sort of.
