I have a 90 day tourist visa. I entered on Oct 16. There is a stamp on it good to Dec14. When I go in to apply for the 30 day extension, is the first day of that next 30 days counted included Dec14 or will the next 30 day period begin the next day Dec15?

Also how soon before the Dec14 should I go to Krabi immigration to apply for the next 30 days? Thank you kindly

Yes, I was caught out once. I had assumed a day was 24 hours! Not in Thailand, a day can be only 5 mins, as you say. I was out by a day and overstayed a day. Only got a finger-wagging on the way out though.

You had a tourist visa that was valid for 90 days <- meaning you have 90 days to enter the country. When you entered you were stamped in for 60 days <- the length of time ALL tourist visas give people when they enter the country.

You can go to the immigration office when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp and apply for a 30 day extension for 1900baht.

They will add the 30 days onto the existing expiration date of the stamp you have (Dec 14). You don't lose any days by going early.
