Tourist 30 day visa finishes 2nd January. For the 30 day extension, is the 30 days from date of immigration or date from the previous visa ending?
Can I get it early basically?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation focuses on the process of extending a Thailand tourist visa. Users clarify that the 30-day extension is added on to the expiration date of the existing visa, meaning one can apply for it up to 30 days before the current visa expires. Some immigration offices may have specific rules regarding the timing of the extension application.
If Visa not in your Spam box?? Sorry Fella Refused

What about if you arrive on a 30 day tourist visa but have applied for an E-visa(tourist 60 days) 4 weeks ago and still haven’t arrived, will the e visa be ok to use once approved?
You'd need to do a border bounce to activate the tourist visa. Cannot do it from inside Thailand

It's added on,so you don't lose any days.
Most offices allow you to apply 30 days before it expires. A couple only allow you to apply in the last week before it expires, Jomtien and koh samui I believe.
I wasn't too sure about samui's requirements, so had a quick search and a few posts say samui accept extension requests when you have less than 14 days. Theses posts were from about 6 months ago, but hopefully still accurate.
