Morning All, i will be going back to Thailand in August, my question is what visa should i get now to then change over to a retirement visa in Thailand. I have the 800k in the bank already.

research it carefully because now with the eVisa program (where you apply online) both the US and the UK thai consulates require mandatory health insurance to get the Non-O visas issued. Check the requirements carefully with the thai consulate in your country.

It might be better to come here and apply for the Non-O 90 day visa inside the country at the immigration office, anyway, just a thought

then you should be set to apply for the 90 day Non O visa from the thai consulate in your country

you come in either on a 30 day visa exempt or a 60 day tourist visa and apply for the in coutnry Non-O at the immigration office

you get the 90 day Non-O visa from the thai consulate in your country before you wing your way here

those are your two choices.

Most easy is the retirement visa also known as Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age, which gives you 90 days of stay on entry.

After 45 days you can apply at most Immigration Offices for the retirement visa also known as Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age.
