Hi Everyone, I am currently on a Spouse visa and I am looking at extending again for another year this month. This is my first extension and I want to handle it myself without agent. I only have one question. Do I need to do something special with the marriage certificate? Like have it legalized somewhere or just anything? The certificate is a Thai certificate as I married here in chiang-mai. This is also where I will apply for the extension.

IF you're married INSIDE thailand you get two marriage certificates

The Kor Ror 2 (ค.ร.๒) like a form all in thai

AND

The rose bordered suitable for framing 😛 Kor Ror 3 (ค.ร.๓)

A lot of offices are wanting people to get a new Kor Ror 2 every year, because you can only get one of those IF you're still married 😛

Every year when you apply for extension of stay based on marriage to Thai you have to go back to the district (Amphoe) office with your marriage certificate and get letter of verification.

Go to ampur office they will give you a letter to state you are still married and coexisting together it's 20 baht

Is that the case?

If not, what exact visa do you hold?

Is this marriage registered in a Thai district office, known as “Amphur” or “Khet”?

Yes of course. In Chiang Mai Amphur and I have the documents they gave me back then. I'm just wondering whether I need to go someplace to have them legalize the documents again? As in confirming they are still real for immigration? This is the question I am asking.

If you possess a NON O Married to a Thai National visa, you will likely need to get a confirmation that your REGISTERED marriage is still valid.

Contact Chiang Mai Immigration and ask if they require this document…a Kor Ror 2.

Which is highly likely.

Yes I have that visa now. So do you know where in Chiang Mai I have to go for this proof that the marriage is still valid? I have Kor Ror 1, 2 and 3 as they were given to me on the day I married.

No, I do not know where in CM, only in Chiang Rai. Perhaps someone else here has that information.

I assume you are referring to the rose bordered document, which you will need copies of, but which is separate from the yearly confirmation of a valid marriage.

Yes I am married and have the Thai Certificate in thai language. But I mean that is just a paper. I feel like I need to go to some office to have them confirm that the marriage is still real? Or am I overcomplicating it?
