Hi everyone, I need some help! I entered Thailand on November 10 with my DTV visa (I got it in October), but my passport was stamped only until February 7—much shorter than the 180 days I was expecting. I had originally been on holiday in Japan before coming back, so I’m a bit confused now. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Should I apply for an extension (and if so, how and where), or is it just a matter of doing the 90-day reporting? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

 you have a STICKER PASTED IN YOUR PASSPORT. Showing you have a DTV multiple entry Visa good for 5 years from the date it was issued.

Did you show a printed pdf with the DTV visa to the Immigration officer ?

Have you checked, what it say on that PDF ?

ED Visa+ is a totally different visa.

Just a question as I’ll be arriving with my DTV visa soon.

Should I hand over my DTV visa along with the passport to the officer?

Also, I have applied via Soft Power ( Thai nature seminars), should I keep a print out a copy of their course curriculum just in case ?

 Yes... print out the email you received with the DTV Visa... show it to airline staff if asked...And to Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival.

Carrying a copy of the course content could be helpful if ever asked....

I live in India and I applied from Thai embassy Kolkata.

Took just 5 working days , no addl documentation was asked or required other than the one submitted with the application form.

Bank Balance for 6 months throughout was 500,000 Baht ( equivalent in INR)

 yes. Easiest to hand over a copy of the visa, less likely to get mistakes. Check your stamp before you leave the desk. It doesn't hurt to carry the course info, unlikely you get asked but you never know.

Both times I have entered. I have checked before I left the immigration counter. Both times was 180 days.

I really don't get it. People plan a trip, travel to obtain a visa, wait in line, go through security, board planes, show passports boarding passes, long walk up to immigration looking forward to a long stay, and after their 36 hour journey they don't take 5 seconds to check their stamp.

What Thai Visa did you have before you got the DTV visa?

Did you have a reentry permit in your passport?

Retired?

Married to Thai?

Father Thai child?

If so, that could be a reason for getting stamped in for 90 days vs 180 days.

I think it's best to simply do a BORDER BOUNCE in or before February 7...

Be sure you SHOW THE THAI IMMIGRATION OFFICER the DTV THAI VISA stamped in your passport...

And be sure you're stamped in for 180 days.

A flight ✈️ out first day and back the next day will get you the 180 day stamp.

BUT if your passport expires ....as you have said....within 6 months, flying out of Thailand and returning might not be possible. See my other suggestions in my other replies to this Post of yours.

I am assuming that you have a STAMP for the DTV visa in your passport. As Taipei was still on the Walk up application method. So a STAMP STICKER WAS PASTED IN YOUR PASSPORT.

 hi yes you are right I got the first stamp that I got in October and then another one that is for 90 days! My passport expire in less than 6 months so I can’t even travel outside of the country anymore! What is the solution?

 It does not hurt you to try to get the Admit stamp corrected by Thai Immigration Officers at Don Mueang airport Bangkok.

Go ask them Tomorrow....on Monday.

Suggest you contact this Fast Track Service Company... ask them if they can help you get a corrected entry date at the Don Mueang airport.

They have contacts with Thai Immigration Officers as they arrange for Fast Track Services upon arrival into Thailand.

But I think they may be able to get your arrival date corrected... For a fee.

But if they can... immediate problem solved.

You have to slog it back to the border that you entered to have it corrected. Always check your stamp

Go ask them Tomorrow....on Monday February 3rd.

If Don Mueang airport won't change the expiration date...

Then contact this Border Run service company and tell them your situation.... including the fact that your passport will expire in less than 6 months.

Ask them if they will take you to s land border

Cross and Reenter with expiration date stamp same as your Passport expiration date... All done on the SAME DAY.

They will make arrangements for you to stamp out and reenter Thailand with the officials as needed.

Should always check before leaving the immigration officer, they gave you 90 days, all you can do now is extend or leave and re enter

You should have received a 180 day stamp. Did you inform the immigration officer at airport that you had a DTV visa? In the past when there has been an error, people have gone back to that officer immediately. Not sure what you can do now, since it has been so long and not corrected.
