What should I do if I need a letter from my embassy to extend my tourist visa in Thailand?

Hello everyone. Apologies in advance if I repeat someone's question. I got the regular tourist visa extension of 30 days before the Sept 26th (with no letter from the embassy). Now I went to the Immigration office for correction of stamp until the 30th of Nov but they send me away saying that I need a letter from the embassy stating I have troubles to get back home. My embassy issues no such letters. 

Anyone knows if there is an article on the Immigration website that I can refer to or what is the right thing to say to the officer? I know people who managed to correct the stamp with no letter.

Unless I'm mistaken there were only three immigration offices that I am aware of which were offering the "regular" 30 day extension on the last amnesty if you hadn't gotten it before.

They were Samut Prakan, Chiang Mai and Pai.

Did you go back to the office that issued you the original stamp dated to Oct 26th to get it changed to Nov 30?

I ask that because I got a report today of someone just like you who had a regular 30 day extension from Chiang Mai and they got their stamp adjusted from Oct 26 to Nov 30 today no problem at the C/M office.

I got the first extension from the immigration in Samut Prakan (BKK) and this time around I went to the immigration in Ranong. Do the rules differ depending on the immigration office?

Maybe I'm too stupid but how is it possible that only a few immigration offices do stamp correction? When there is an official decision, shouldn't it be applied to all the offices?

And thanx (I edited my post), I knew there was one other office that was issuing 30 day 'regular' extensions on the last amnesty cycle and it was Samut Prakan, :)

you will have to go BACK to Samut Prakan and see if they will change the date on your stamp to Nov 30, because they issued it
