Good morning. We received a stv valid till 6/7. I prepared all my paperwork to ask for 90 day extension tomorrow but now I saw that my entry stamp says valid till 21/6( we entered 23/4). Any idea what we are facing: 500bht/ day for overstaying but will they refuse our extension request? Tia

OKay, and now that we sorted out the O/P is on a REGULAR tourist visa

Sadly they did indeed confuse the validity of the visa STICKER <- 90 days from the date it was issued with their actual ENTRY STAMP <-60 days from the date they stamped in,

We now see they were stamped in until June 21 and will be on 6 days overstay IF they go to the immigration office tomorrow to apply for their 30 day extension :/ They will be able to pay their 500 baht a day overstay fine and then apply for the 30 day extension for 1900baht

STV is an abbreviation for "Special Tourist Visa".

, do you happened to mean "Single entry Tourist Visa"?

Now I guess better to check your visa ticker and entry stamp again.. Your information is conflicting, in case of that you really have STV sticker, you may need to do a correction first.

Can you post a picture of your STV with the confidential information removed? It sounds like you entered on an 60 day TR visa instead.

If you came in on an STV you should have been stamped in for 90 days including the date of arrival. It might be that immigration made a mistake when you entered and stamped you in for 60 days. Although it's their error, it's equally yours as you should check all stamps at the time. I suggest go to the immigration office and explain what has happened. You MIGHT get away with it, or you might not. Otherwise you're up for 500 baht/day.

Are you sure you have a SPECIAL TOURIST VISA ? because the date you said you were stamped in for (Apr 23 - June 21) is 60 days <- which means you have a "regular" tourist visa :O

Look at the visa and see if it says "Special Tourist" or just "Tourist" under category and look at your tiny red entry stamp and see if it says STV or if it says TR-60 <- regular tourist entry

There is no 90 day extension available on a regular tourist visa :/ You can apply for a 30 day extension ONCE for 1900baht

AND

if your tiny red entry stamp says you are admitted until the 21st of June you WILL pay 500 baht a day overstay fine until you apply for your extension so if you apply tomorrow you're on 6 days overstay or 3000baht fine :O

Sounds a lot like you confused the validity of the visa STICKER <- which only lets you ASK to get in to the country by that date

And

the ENTRY STAMP <- the tiny red stamp you get when you enter that lets you STAY in the country) :/
