Looking for someone who was on a student visa in 2024 and is now on a DTV visa now 🙏🏼 because I saw on a French group someone who has to pay taxes on the years he spent in Thailand

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post raises a concern about tax obligations for individuals who transitioned from a student visa to a DTV visa in Thailand, particularly highlighting an incident shared in a French group regarding an expat needing to pay taxes for the years spent in the country. Various comments clarify the confusion, noting that the individual in question had a work visa and failed to pay taxes, rather than issues related to student or DTV visas. Additionally, one commenter confirms their smooth transition from a student visa to a DTV without any issues.
This has zero to do with DTV. The post was about someone previously working in Thailand, failing to pay their taxes and caught up on their return entry.

I was on student visa till August this year, did a border run and stayed for 2 more months before getting my DTV. No issue with my entry. Came in last month
I usually wouldn't, however in this case with flights, hotels, and a visa at stake, and potential complications it has to be considered. If he was working whilst on an ED visa here for however many years, they'd notice that with his bank account/pay slips. It is possible they could look into it and flag it.
understand makes sense. Just the post lacked so many details and no updates. I’d assume it was an issue before he left the country and not something done on the spot by immigration officers.
