Does anyone know about 90 day reporting, many have said you still need to do 90 day reporting, but I have not seen anything official at all from all the official DTV information I have read about 90 day reporting, I know a lot of people are "guessing" on this forum, but does anyone really know what the rules are on 90 day reporting? Is it possible to open a Thai bank account with a DTV Visa?

if you're asking does holding a DTV cut you any slack at banks opening a bank account, that answer would appear to be NO it does not 😮

People on DTV's have just as much trouble opening a bank account as people here on free stamp or tourist visa entries

It would appear banks are not familiar with the DTV visa yet, so it comes down to you hitting bank after bank until you find one that will do it with requirements you can provide OR you use an agent like most people end up doing 🙂

90 day reporting has nothing to do with the DTV. Any foreigner living in Thailand, that is not a resident, has to report every 90 days.

There are certain other exemptions. LTR and some other BOI Visa. They are annual.

- The LTR is a "residency" visa though. I assume the other BOI visas are as well.

YES all good, very wonderful Thai consulate in Vancouver, easy to deal with, very helpful, I changed my category to "soft power activities", got a letter from my dentist for upcoming work that is needed, should have done that in the first place

the DTV is issued by the MFA, but it's immigration that actually administer the visas.

This is why there's no information available in the same place that DTV application information resides.

This exactly. Immigration have been very quiet on this. I guess we might only find out when someone applies for an extension and fined for not dong a 90 day report. The TM30 might also be a factor - no extension at Jomtien without TM30. In fact no 90 day report at Jomtien without TM30.

I guess it's too early. We haven't heard a whisper from Immigration...

I've never stayed long enough, but will do on my next visit. At that time, I guess I'll need to figure out the whole TM30 deal, especially how it relates to self-reporting, when TM30 is supposed to be the responsibility of the owner or landlord.

It is supposed to be the landlord and I have never had an issue. In Bangkok ot was never done as on BOI Visa and they did not seem to care. Nobody at the company had it down. Three other landlords or agents did it as part of the set up. If a landlord does not want to do it then probably dodging tax on rentals lol

I think you're confused

why would they post anything official? the ONLY visa to thailand that people can get which isn't obligated to file a 90 day report is the LTR (they do it yearly IF they're in thailand for a year)

EVERYONE else on a visa/extension who stays 90 days or more is obligated to do a 90 day report
