Not exactly a Thai visa question but, does anyone know the exact requirements to get back into the US (US citizen)? I've read you need a covid test. Anyone know if it can be atk? Does it need to be officially administered in some way? Any suggestions on where to get it if so?

TLDR : Answer Summary
US citizens returning to the US need to provide a COVID-19 test result. An ATK test is acceptable, but it must be performed at a medical center, and a written certificate is required. Tests are available at the airport, with results in approximately one hour for a fee of 550 baht. While ATK tests are generally accepted, some airlines may still require a PCR test, so it's advisable to check specific airline policies and requirements for departure and transit airports.

I went back to the US, December 31 2021. I had a test PCR test done, with all that frustration. No body checked my paper work. I had to fill out a form saying where I would be staying, nobody asked me for the form.

I think the US only requires the ATK test but maybe the Airline require PCR, I am not sure. You will want to check what the airline requires, and for good measure check what the departing and transit airports require

the airline is the one responsible for checking your Covid test on the way to the US. No one will check it when you arrive.

It can be an ATK test, but it needs done at a medical center and a written certificate.

You can do it at the airport. Allow 1 hour for results. 550 baht.
