Hi, I was trying to dig some information about the address reporting. Basically every time you check-in to new residence in Thailand or re-enter have to contact immigration at that province/municipality?

What is your experience? 

I got the small paper for proof of residence from immigration last time 02/2023 I entered from my home country. Now back from Laos and have to contact them again?

How does the online reporting system work for you? My condo management refuses to do it for me, they say the online system is not working but I think they just don't bother..

Did my last TM30 registration online. Used my wifes details as the house owner. Once i figured out rhe system it went well.

If i want to rent a new condo i always mention the mandatory TM30 reporting in my talks with the owner/agent. I tell them I need this report to be done. Mostly they do it. But probably wouldnt have done it without my demand.

If you don't leave the nation, just travel internally for business, medical etc, I was told no need to do another TM 30 unless you leave. IE go meeting see Dr, a few days return home, fine. It's staying at a different private residence or exit nation and return you need to do tm30

The "TM-30 <-notification of foreigner in residence" reporting requirement is probably the one thing that varies the most province to province, office to office and indeed even sometimes officer to officer (in the SAME office 😮 )

With over 80 offices in the country there is zero consistency as far as the TM30 filing. All you can really do is check with your office and go from there.

I know that sounds like we're pawning off an answer on you but sometimes check with YOUR immigration office IS the correct answer on how things are done.

yeah I did check actually but it's quite bothersome to physically go there just for that lol was hoping a shortcut.

Guess if you are the condo owner can do it yourself online but if just renting have to rely on the landlord.

Ask your local Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM30 filing.

That way you will know for sure.

It's the responsibility of your landlord to file a TM30.

BUT if they refuse to, Ask your local Thai Immigration office if you can file it yourself.

What happens in One Thai Immigration office in One province can entirely be different for another office in another province.

So asking what others are doing is not helpful.

Go to your local Thai Immigration office and ASK them.
