I'll be 50 soon. And I'll switch from marriage to retirement extensions.

What is the price of a 1-year extension based on retirement?

Do you need to provide photos of your house too as you need to do with a marriage extension?

I've more than 800K on my own savings account for more than 3 months, but almost all of the money has been there since years, there's just bit of money coming from abroad. I guess this is not an issue?

Okay, as we do NOT know the immigration office the O/P is referring to we don't know whether they will or won't require the photos. 😮 Different offices require different things and SOME offices require the photos even on retirement extensions.

 my passport expires in April, my extension in September. So I guess they will not give me the full year.

 you are totally correct (y)

unless you can renew your passport BEFORE you go for your extension you will get an extension until your current passport expires 😕

AND

when you do get the new passport you go move the extension stamps into it and apply for a whole new yearly extension in April <- which will then be your NEW yearly extension renewal date 😮

So true, Thailand immigration offices are not like McDonald's where everything is the same everywhere. Specific policies, requirements, rules may (and often do) vary from one office to another. Some may have the McRib and Happy Meal, while others don't. 😉

, but COULD you get a affidavit with amount of Euro's which after exchange is over 65,000฿ minimum income, the 800k is not locked, which can be safe should 'sht happen'. In my Dutch Embassy, I just have to send 2 months copy of my income (for me, it's pension) and 2 months copy of my Dutch bank account where that amount is shown as a deposit, to get that. But, since you are (only 😉) 50 soon, guess that it's more difficult to prove that >65k฿ comes in on a regular basis. Then ofcourse the 800k฿, although a little bit more paperwork than the affidavit, it's the way to do it. And no, the 800k฿ does not have to come from abroad. This is only needed when you want a non imm. O VISA (no extension) in Thailand.. Good luck !

 have you asked your Belgium Embassy if they will issue you an affidavit of income stating that you have Savings and or earned income yearly of 800,000 Thai baht or more...

to submit to Thai immigration when you make an application for the one year extension of stay as retired!

 the 800k must be untouched for 3 months after the application. Does that mean the balance must stay above 800k all the time, or that you are just not allowed to use the account?

 balance must remain at 800,000 Thai baht three full months from Date of the one year extension of stay as retired is stamped into your passport.

Cannot go below 400,000 Thai baht during the next 7 months and must be brought up to 800,000 again two full months PRIOR to the ending date of your extension stamp.

 actually there are TWO dates in play regarding the seasoning of banked money funds for retirement extensions;

The "pre-application seasoning" is two months before you APPLY for the extension.

The "post-application seasoning" is 3 months AFTER your previous extension would have expired <- Meaning if you went in a month early to apply, you would need to leave the 800K baht in the bank for almost 3 months (until the new extension starts<-which is actually the day your previous extension runs out.
