Today I went to Krabi immigration. I entered 18th March on visa exemption. I hoped to get an extension but was told " not at the moment". However I was given option of 60 day extension based on marriage to Thai. So we are going back tomorrow with marriage certificate and photo and will let everyone know how it goes. I have a flight on 14th August so that suits us fine. Not sure about how much it is going to cost me?

Update. We went back today and got our 60 day marriage extension. There was initial confusion as they wanted bank details etc but we made it clear we didn't want the year extension, only the 60 day extension as I'm back to work soon! Then they suggested we wait and see, but I insisted we wanted extension. So thanks for all the advice it really helped. It took just over 1 hour. Maybe the amnesty will get extended, but I'm happy to pay for the peace of mind.

happy to help. We needed to draw a map of our property which was the only shock! We were not asked for rental agreement. Just Thai ID, marriage certificate and copies of passport, 1 photo, copy of wife residency address.

Yep and this is bearing out what I posted earlier about people on 30 day visa exempt entry stamps who went onto amnesty NOT being able to get the 30 day "regular" extension once you go on amnesty

BUT

there is no problem getting the 60 day visit thai family extension from amnesty
