TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the rules related to the TM30 form after returning to Thailand on a valid retirement visa following a trip abroad. Participants clarify that it is technically required for landlords or property owners to submit a new TM30 within 24 hours of returning, regardless of the length of time spent outside the country. Practices may vary by office, with some being more lenient than others. Those with a yellow house book must still file a TM30. Suggestions for filing the TM30 online are also discussed.

Technically every time you leave Thailand for any length of time, your landlord, or you if you own where you live, must file a new TM 30 within 24 hours of returning.

So just to confirm does this mean I would have to tell my landlord I'm leaving the country even if I was only going for a couple of days,
We're moving to the Kingdom at the end of November and are applying for retirement visas with a multi-entry permit. We'll be renting a condo for at least the first year but we were unaware that we'd need to inform our landlord of our movements.
you don't have to tell them your leaving, as there is nothing they file when a renter leaves, only when they return after leaving Thailand for more than a few days, like doing a border run.

Office dependent. Some will want you to re-file. Some won’t if you’re returning to the same address.
