Hey folks,

I am on a tourist visa but just got hired. I cannot leave the country to do the process outside as many countries still do not allow foreigners. May I know if its possible to do the Non-B Visa and Work Permit here, without leaving the country? Or may I know if you guys are aware of any countries that no longer have quarantine?

If there is not an option for me to get it...whats your advice? Which country should I access to get it? Also, considering I have a house here, would I still need to do quarantine at a hotel?

Working without a work permit is illegal.

My option 1 is you should agree with your employer to still hire you whenever borders have been reopened so you can exit reentry on a Non IMM B visa.

Or if possible option 2 your employer could appeal to get you the work permit and enable you To work legally and then once borders are opened to exit reentry in the correct Non IMM B visa. But I wouldn’t bet on the second option.

isn't your employer doing anything about this???

normally, it's possible, and normally, your employer should handle this. i have done with tourist visa before, don't know if they do with visa exempt stamp or not.

if you can get a work permit you can probably get an employment extension at Chaeng Wattana.

 My employer is a stand alone restaurant, we are consulting with some agencies and some are saying its not doable, but you know how sometimes thais like to say cannot just because its a little extra work

 i had to get a lawyer because i *am* my employer and had to form my company, which is expensive.

some agents are good, some are dodgy. doing the paperwork yourself and getting it past Chaeng Wattana is a can of worms.

 How long for your visa process with the Thai Visa Centre? Is it the real visa from Thai Immigration? We don’t have much choice for now. This is the last option for my husband.

. So you're already on visa amnesty. To the best of my knowledge at this point the only visa you can move to from amnesty is Thai Elite and an ED visa for studying a degree at university. I suggest you talk with your employer in the first instance, they might be able to grease the wheels with your local immigration office

 looks like he's from Oz, chances are he never had a tourist visa to begin with. Most likely visa exempt then onto amnesty if I was a betting man.

 No i am Italian, I came in with a tourist visa, made by the embassy back home as for italians due to covid there wad no more visa exemption.
