is it possible to get 2 tourist visas in a row these days?
I am currently in Thailand with a TR visa that was issued in Sweden and in January 2023 I have planned to travel to Malaysia to Kuala Lumpur or Penang and apply for another tourist visa from there, is it possible to get it there?
I am a Swedish citizen and I have a Swedish passport.
For many years (8) I have been in Thailand every winter for 6 months with 2 x TR visas, but nowadays many people have had problems with visas.
I don't work in Thailand, I have passive sources of income.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires whether a Swedish citizen can obtain two consecutive tourist visas for Thailand, given current visa issues faced by many travelers. The poster mentions their history of spending six months in Thailand each winter with two TR visas, and plans to apply for a new tourist visa in Malaysia after their current visa expires. Comments suggest checking the consulate's specific requirements online, with the advice that if eligibility is met, obtaining the visa should not be an issue. Additionally, it's mentioned that a multiple-entry tourist visa might be a more suitable option for extended stays.
, It's your decision how you want to handle those documents. KL is quite strict with those checklists. You cannot even enter the embassy's premises if you don't have the documents on the checklist. The guard at the gate would check the documents list (not the contents though) first.

If you want to stay 6 months in Thailand the 6 months valid multiple entry Tourist visa might be more convenient to suit your needs.
With border runs and extensions you can stay with one visa for almost 270 days
very good advice if he was not already in Thailand. The METV multiple entry tourist visa is not available at any SE Asian Thai Embassy or Consulate. It's only available in his home country.
