planning to enter Thailand with a TR visa (mutliple Entry) and an one-way flight only with Thai Airways.
Does anyone has experience or know if an onward flight with a different airline is sufficient for Thai airways at Check-in?
Or can it happen that they insist of booking an return flight with them to cover costs for a possible refusal to enter Thailand at Immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether holding an onward flight ticket with a different airline suffices during check-in with Thai Airways when entering Thailand on a multiple-entry TR visa. Responses confirm that any onward ticket (train, bus, or flight) is generally accepted, and prior experiences indicate that check-in with a different airline's ticket has been acceptable.
I recently flew Sydney-Bangkok with Thai airways. My departure flight from Thailand was with a different airline. This was acceptable for check in.

Why you want to enter with a one way ticket when you have to send the embassy proof of an onward from and a return ticket to Thailand anyway in order to get the multy entry visa?
acc. the newest visa regulation from 23. October 2023 a proof of ticket out of Thailand is not required anymore (at least at the Thai embassies in Germany).
Anyway, I still will purchase an onward ticket out of Thailand, but as mentioned, with another airline, than my flight in.
Therefore I'm not sure if Thai Airways will accept this, since this will not cover costs, in case they would have to fly me back to Germany.
See below the new and simplified requirements for the German Thai-Embassies. I checked with the Embassy in Berlin and they confirmed that there are no additional requirements anymore to receive the multiple entry visa. They also confirmed that one-way ticket is enough for visa application... but as
Yes. May have to ask for a supervisor if a bus or train ticket, but as long as itâs an international ticket then shouldnât be an issue. A bus ticket to a border town (where you could walk across the border wouldnât suffice).
