The original poster is seeking guidance on how to register for immigration in Thailand due to their landlord's lack of knowledge regarding the TM30 form and registration in the house book. Comments from the community suggest ways to resolve the issue, including visiting the local immigration office with necessary documents (like a rental contract and landlord's ID) and potential new online registration options. Additionally, some emphasize the landlord's responsibility and the necessity of compliance with Thai immigration laws.
I'm glad he admitted he didn't know instead of just assuring you he knew and would handle everything

On another note maybe taking the landlord to lunch and then immigration with the appropriate paperwork would solve the problem.

also get your landlord's number. Sometimes they can talk straight to the owner/landlord of the building.

Agree with Billy Brown... Just go to Immigration office bring the Copy of your lease, photo copy of your landlord identification card. Immigration officer will help you 100℅.

There is a new portal where apparently also tenants can register, haven’t used it yet but here it is, looks like there is also a guide
TBF the OP isn't breaking the law, it's not his responsibility to register himself unless he owns his own property. Also if the landlord has never rented to a foreigner he most likely would not know about a TM30.
Same issue. Went to immigration told the situation. I had to bring copy ID landlord and copy blue book, not sure if the name is correct about last item. Landlord did sent it through Line and got a tm27 so i didnt get fined. I did my part... me happy... immigration happy... everyone happy

you should of checked this prior to agreeing to move in, schoolboy error
Wow! I’m an elderly guy Peter. Should I be going back to Canada? 🙂 Seems to me you made a “rude school boy” comment to Annie. Maybe you should consider returning home to your country Peter. 🙂 Either that or start wearing some “big boy pants.”
didn’t read his reply. There’s nothing he could say that would be of any interest to me. He was so rude and unnecessary in his response to the original poster. Hope the admins will take note and block him 🌺🇹🇭

Ask your girlfriend to sort it out with him.

I’m guessing he doesn’t pay taxes so doesn’t want the paperwork linking the lease.

Seems like willful ignorance since it's much much easier for a Thai person to search for information on these things since all of the official sources are in Thai.
Here is the Thai Language user manual on the new TM30 system including a video.
