Hi Everyone. I will be flying to Thailand from the UK on a 60 day tourist visa in January. I will be staying in a rented bungalow on Koh Samui. In the past ( 2017 )I have gone to the new immigration office there before the 60 days expired and paid 1900 baht for a 30 day extension. Is this still the way to do it. I have looked at the Thai embassy website and am a bit confused. That's just old age I guess!!

Yeh its a pain in the ass ,I like to have a night out ,once a week ,then I have to travel 110 kilometres to my LOCAL immigration office !!!

sadly that does not count. Must file TM30 within 24 hours of arrival with your local Thai Immigration...

Nope, filling out a TM.6 arrival/departure card does NOT do anything in regards to you being obligated to filing a TM.30 <- (alien in residence) form if the immigration office in the area where you live requires it.

Be sure the TM 30 is filed with immigration within 24 hours of your arrival. Owner/landlord responsible to file but many do not. Leaving fines to renter to be paid and problem possible when seeking the 30 day extension if the TM30 was not filed. Enjoy your holiday in Thailand.
