Hi everyone. I just got stamped for another 60 days covid extension. No queue for today only 15 minutes and done. But there’s a different process today they gave me a 90 days form to fill up and pay 2k baht fine. And asking why I haven’t updated my notifications. But I specifically asked 2 months ago at N1 counter 46 if I need to have 90 days and she said no because it’s only 60 days extension. So I told counter 41 about this and then she said “okay you can do nextime in MTT” I didn’t pay 2k fine but she said i need to book appointment at mtt and pay fine. My question is, do I need to pay the fine for 90 days extension?

My question is related to this: does everyone who is in Thailand longer than 3 months have to do this reporting?

I am here on a tourist visa and I will be here on a tourist visa until December. Will I need to do that too or only others who initially have had another type of visa?

If you are here on a tourist visa, you can not stay longer then 89 days (59 day entry + 30 day extension of stay) so a 90 day report does not apply to you. Unless, of course, you took an 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

ASK your immigration office (Or Muang Thong Thani, counter A).

I got the same situation with you. The only way is to do the 90D report at MTT and pay 2K, otherwise they reserve the right to reject your next extension in Nov.

If a person does not do a 90 day report, an extension of stay will not be processed UNTIL the fine is paid. Once the fine is paid, I never heard of anyone being rejected for another extension of stay based on that reason.

but why they stopped insisting I pay them 2k when I told them officer at counter 46 said so. And resume to stamp my visa for another 60 days? I think it’s weird

In the Thai culture, saving face is important, and it wasn't worth the risk of the immigration officer to lose face if the officer at counter 46 said you don't need to pay a fine.

The ONLY way you'd know if you have to pay a fine or not is to ask Counter A. Those are the people you need to ask.

I thought it was okay already because it was the officer who said I don’t need 90 days notification. I complied with 90 days notification until the officer said it’s not a requirement anymore. And now they said rules have changed. So I have to pay fine. I don’t get it at all.

Sadly, Counter N1 would not know what the 90 day report requirements are, because they don't process the 90 day reports.

I'M ASSUMING you're a former teacher, and got your 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 at Counter N at Changewattana today.

Counter N1 would not know, because they do not process the 90 day report. I recommend contacting counter A at Muang Thong Thani and ask them. It would not surprise me if you have to pay a 2K THB fine.

The immigration officer should know the online booking system is not working, and it's first come, first serve.
