Hi all!

Hope someone can give me some advice.

I’m in Thailand om my first year non immigrant O visa. Married to a Thai national.

In the first year after submitting proof of marriage and stuff you get 3x 90 days extensions.

Now.. I have to fly home because of a sick family member. I am able to fly in between my 90 days extension, so I guess I can leave, come back, and with no problem submit my 90 days visa extension.

My question is, do I need to ask permission to leave? My last extension was done online.. so I have no stamp in my passport or anything. Just an online confirmation. I’m afraid when I fly back they’ll give me a 30 day visa and have to do it all over again.

Anyone know how this works?

I guess you have the big stamp from Immigration with the text: Extension of Stay permitted up to xx/xx/xx and you report every 90 days that you are still inside Thailand.

Before you leave you have to get a Re-Entry Permit, cost 1.000 Thb, from Immigration Office. This permit will give you the same xx/xx/xx date on return.

 you do not need to make a 90 day report (which you falsely call "90 days extension") on the first day after you re-entered Thailand. However, when returning from abroad, you will need to report your residence within 24 hours after coming back to Thailand. It is called TM30 report. If you miss that, the fine is the 2000.-THB you have mentioned

 You may wish to check with immigration of the need to report arrival at your residence in Thailand . Normally I believe this is required (not 90 day report) within 24 hours of arrival ,or next business day If arrival on a weekend or holiday

 The 90 day report is only required when in Thailand. If you leave and enter back in, the 90 day report is required by the 90th day based on the entry stamp in your passport

 a 90 day report is to say you have been inside thailand for 90 consecutive days. If you are not in Thailand you don't need to report. Once you have returned you report 90 days from your date of re-entry. There is no 90 day extension. You should already be on a yearly extension, you should be aware of that date stamped in your passport "permission to stay until xxxxxxx"

 You restart the 90 day count the day you come back. You will have keep your own reminder.

 don't worry about the 90 day report. Just be sure that you return before your current one year extension of stay expires.

 if that is what you have... then before you leave Thailand be sure to get a RE-ENTRY PERMIT from the Thai immigration office. That will allow you to re-enter with the current ending date stamped now in your passport.

 so you must have a NonO as Married to Thai with a one year extension of stay.

With a 400,000 Thai baht deposit in a Thai bank in your name???

And make a 90 day report to the Thai immigration office each 90 days.
