Hello everyone, I will be going to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme with the intent to apply for a non-immigrant O retirement visa. I read from the Thailand Immigration website that one of the options for the income verification is to have a “letter of guarantee” from the local embassy. Unfortunately, the local embassy does not issue this letter anymore. I would like to find out if someone have used a “letter of guarantee” from your bank together with a bank statement as proof of enough income to apply for the non-immigrant O visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the challenges of obtaining a 'letter of guarantee' from a local embassy for income verification when applying for a non-immigrant O retirement visa in Thailand. The original poster mentions their intent to use a bank letter to prove income due to the embassy's change in policy. Commenters suggest alternatives, such as utilizing the banked method for initial visa requirements and applying for the visa online before arriving in Thailand to simplify the process.

Ok first you to do online E visa the picture of you and all your documents to be in "jpac mode limited sizes they will give you the runaround but keep up with it. You then have 3months to do yearly extention, bangkok bank i found to be easier and ask for small health insurance, (worth the money)they say money as to be untouched for

Much easier if you apply online for the non o retirement visa at the Thai embassy before you come to Thailand.

That way you will be able to open a bank account in Thailand without using an agent and you do not need a flight ticket out of Thailand.

Agreed! Thank you!

Absolutely not. If your country’s embassy won’t do the income affidavit (US, UK, Australia and perhaps others) then your only option is the banked 800k method for the initial visa and the first year extension.
