New member, looking for advice please, I have a current non O 1 year extension based on retirement that expires 7 July and have a re entry stamp in my passport, I intend on renewing my 1 year extension with new re entry permit 30 days before due date 7 June.

Am I ok to leave Thailand while on my current stamp and return on my new stamp in 6 Months time without issue? I realise I need COE and to fulfill the rest of the criteria, my question is just related to my passport stamps, thankyou.

Reentry stamp is only valid for the length of your current permission to stay. You would have to have your new extension completely inked in with the permitted to stay date (say July 7 2022) and then apply for reentry stamp which will be valid till July 7 2022.

when you apply for your next extension the year will be added to the expiration date you have now. So once you get that new extension that's the one you're here on AND as you pointed out you'll need to buy a new re-entry permit after you get this year extension too (one that is valid for as long as your new extension will be)

get your new extension and a new re-entry permit BEFORE you wing your way outta thailand and you'll be fine leaving.

When you come back you'll be stamped in until the extension expires (July 7th 2022)

Most extension of stays increase the time on your "admitted to" stamp, so there won't be any "new" or "old" stamp to enter on.
