TLDR : Answer Summary
The extension of Visa Exemption at Chonburi Immigration appears to allow extensions only when there is a week or less remaining on the visa stamp. Specifically, individuals visiting the Jomtien office have reported that attempting to extend earlier than this time frame may result in being turned away.

Jomtien 7 days or less and they will turn you away if you go earlier.

Unless I'm mistaken in Jomtien you can ONLY go for a visa exempt extension when you have a WEEK or less left on your stamp.

That's one of those squirrelly offices like Samui that does that 1 week or less rule for 30 day extensions

Thank you Tod. If that’s the way it is, I can wait and go there a week before my time runs out.

So there would be no such rule for a Tourist Visa obtained at an embassy?

nope same rule in Jomtien 😮 ANYONE on a free entry stamp OR a real 60 day tourist visa waits until they have a week or less left on their stamp to apply for the 30 day extension
