Can I Extend My NON-IMM O-A Visa Without Insurance After It Expires?

I am an American Citizen with a NON-IMM O-A Visa issued from the Los Angeles Thai Consulate on March 21st 2019 with an expiration of March 20th 2020.  Is it still possible to enter a day or 2 before it expires and get stamped in for an additional year, then go to immigration in Jomtien and get a multiple-entry permit so I can use if for that second year?  All this WITHOUT insurance? Or, is it now the case that the Visa will no longer be valid without insurance as of it's expiration date of March 20th 2020?  Thanks!

In THEORY it is possible to do this (as the visa was issued in your country before the insurance rule came into effect) BUT I think you'll find it's more down to the I/O you encounter stamping in.

If they ask for insurance stand your ground, tell them the visa was issued BEFORE insurance was required and 9 times out of 10 they will stamp you in for another year.

Getting a re-entry permit isn't gonna be a problem after you get the "second" year entry stamp

Great! Thank you for the info. In the worst case scenario what are the chances they would at least give me a 30 day entry as opposed to denying me entry? I know it’s impossible to say with any certainty but just asking your opinion.
