question: if i enter at BKK airport using an APEC card (US member) and get stamped for 30 days entry, you can extend it 30 more days at Chaeng Wattana like normal?

Additionally, if you enter that way and get stamped for 90 days, as some US members of this group have reported getting 90 days entry, which supposedly is an accident since the US is only a transitional member of APEC? ... can you still extend that entry another month?

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion addresses the implications of entering Thailand with an APEC card as a US member. It clarifies that a standard entry with an APEC card typically allows for 30 days, which can be extended for another 30 days at Chaeng Wattana. However, concerns are raised about the accidental receipt of a 90-day stamp, as the US is only a transitional APEC member. The risks involved with overstaying due to incorrect stamping are also highlighted.

my sis, singaporean. enter on apec card. got a 90 days stamp. of stay. but she left before 30days on stay. i saw the stamp is 90 days.

Make sure the stamp is correct. If immigration stamps the date wrong in your sister's passport, then she'll get fined for a 60 day overstay, and will not be waived.

Besides, the USA isn't a full member of the APEC, so their rules may be a bit different.

traveling without a visa, always enter visa-exempt. anyway yea thanks for the replies, makes it more clear. I think what I'll end up doing is just using the fast lane with my APEC card but still enter as a tourist visa-exempt. if they happen to stamp me for more than 30 days, ill worry about then.

Something to keep in mind is if a person gets stamped in wrong, it's that person's responsibility to get the stamp changed. For example, if a person is only allowed 30 days, and they get a 90 day stamp, and they leave on the 90th day, they'll be on a 60 day overstay.

a tourist visa would only give you 60 days and then a 30 day extension
