I came to Thailand on a 90 day visa visiting family married to a Thai as a US citizen. Is there an extension to apply for? I was under the impression from reading posts. From this group that there is a 60 day extension I could apply for. Yes, I can go to immigration. At blueport, in Hua Hin but it is hard to ask somebody a question. With the new setup, they have at the windows.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a US citizen on a 90-day visa visiting family in Thailand, you can apply for a 60-day extension at the immigration office. If you're married to a Thai citizen, you also have the option to apply for a one-year extension, provided you meet certain financial requirements (like having 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account for at least two months). It is recommended to visit the main immigration office in Hua Hin for the extension process instead of Blueport, and it may be beneficial to bring your wife along for assistance.

You need to go to the main immigration in Hua Hin rather than Blúport.

If the marriage is registered in Thailand, you can, for example, apply for a 60-day extension married to a Thai citizen.

i have the marriage certificates from being married. The United States, but I only was thinking about next year. Getting 60 days additional to my 90, which is what I need?

Can I just visit family instead of based on marriage in Thailand because I don't have it registered in Thailand?

If you have Thai Family children who are Thai citizens, you can apply for 90 days Thai Family/ children.

And then a 60 day extension because you have Thai Family.

Hope you understand what I mean.

i do understand when I come to Thailand I usually stay 5 months but I have to leave the country after 90 days. I was trying to come in with my O visa, and then stay 60 more days without leaving the country. I do not have a Thai child with my wife. I get my ninety day visa from the united states

To get another 60 days extension at immigration in Thailand without leaving Thailand within 90 days of your visa!

So the marriage must be registered in Thailand.

See the photo during !

for the general requirements for the 60 day extension Visiting Thai Family!

Yes, as a US citizen on a 90-day visa, you can apply for a 60-day extension at the immigration office. Since you're married to a Thai citizen, you may also have options for longer extensions. However, if you want a one-year extension, you’ll need to provide proof of having 400,000 baht in your bank account for at least two months. If you're short on cash, you can still get the 60-day extension or leave the country and come back. Additionally, if you prefer to avoid the long wait times and lines, you can hire an agent to handle the process for you. That's what the officials told me when I was extending my husband's Non-O visa. Good luck!

i have the marriage certificates for the United States. My marriage is not registered in Thailand does that still qualify to be able to get the 60 day? Extension, that's really all I need.

Bring all your documents from the U.S., including your marriage certificate, to the immigration office along with the required fee. I haven't registered my marriage in Thailand either, and they granted my husband a 60-day extension.

As any citizen on any entries you can apply for a 60 days extension visiting Thai family if you’re married Thai or have a Thai child, also if you’re on a 60 days visa exemption and have already done a 30 days visa extension.

You can either extend for one year if you meet the requirements or you can apply for the “visit Thai family” extension for 60 days. Both options cost 1,900 baht.

question: if you have a multi re-entry permit on the visa and you proceed to 60 days extension it will be valid for the extension or need to purchase a new one ?

@Marco ******
No a re-entry permit is only valid for the stamp it was purchased for. Any extension would need a new re-entry permit.
