Currently in Thailand on 60 day tourist visa from UK. Over 50 and aiming for non O retirement visa. 800, 000 baht seasoning in the bank. Have been advised by immigration today that my children aged 13 & 14 cannot be added as dependants because they are not non O already. I thought they could be added as trailing dependants??
Any advice gratefully received TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) is seeking advice on adding their children (aged 13 and 14) as dependents while applying for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand. They were informed by immigration that their children cannot be added as dependents because they do not currently hold Non-O visas. Commenters clarified that dependents cannot apply for Non-O visas while in Thailand. They outlined a three-step process for the OP: first, apply for a 90-day Non-O visa, wait for approval, then apply for a year extension before being able to apply for Non-O visas for the children at a Thai consulate.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
Now you are not under any time pressure, as your kids will not facce any penalty. Do your non o visa and then when are school holidays or when it's good for you you can visit a consolate or even you can do a evisa for your children and make a border run
has to understand is, that minors don't get fined for overstaying (or don't get penalties for overstaying) does NOT mean they are not overstaying. They will be on overstay and would get overstay stamps when they leave Thailand.
That could be an option, but from her comments, she doesn't want her children to be on overstay so far.

They are correct, you can't apply for Non-O visas for them in country because they don't issue in country Non-O visas to family members OR foreign spouses of "retirement visa holders", it's not a reason to get that visa inside the country
It seems that you haven't even applied for the Non-O visa yet ๐
You have a three step process to get thru before you can even start thinking about your children's visa/extensions
1 - Apply for the 90 day Non-O for 2000baht
**Wait the under review period that your immigration office has
2 - Go back to get the Non-O and new 90 day stamp inked in
**Wait until you have 30 days or less left on your new stamp
3 - Apply for the year extension fro 1900baht
AFTER you get your year extension you can go to a thai consulate in the area and apply for a 90 day Non-O visa for them. They'll get stamped in for 90 days and when they have 30 or less left on it you go to the immigration office and they get matching extensions as being family members of someone on a longstay visa/extension.
That's the only way you're gonna pull it off piggybacking them on your visa/extension.
