Planning to move to Bangkok with my wife and son. My son is attending a school in Thailand.
My wife and I both got Non O guardian visas from the consultante in Miami. The way I understood it originally from online research is that only one parent can get a guardian visa what I thought was weird but I'm happy we both got it now.
This will be good for 3 months and then we have to extend it for 1 year. At that point the pareny has to show 500,000 baht in a Thai bank / bank book - all understood.
I still think it's only possible for one parent but Miami consulate told me we can both get it. So I'm confused.
If my wife and I each show an account with 500,000 baht and go to immigration to extend our non O guardian visa would be both get the extension? I probably think if we go together they will say no as in my understanding it's for one parent. What do you guys think?
The guardian visa would be the best for me and I wouldn't have to get Thai Elite.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple has obtained Non O guardian visas for themselves while their son attends school in Thailand. There is confusion about whether both parents can obtain extensions, as it is commonly understood that only one guardian visa is permitted per child. The consulate in Miami provided both parents with visas, but commenters suggest that typically only one guardian visa and extension is granted per child, advising to have a backup plan for the second parent's visa.
