gotcha! This was my original understanding. The “midnight on the 30th” just threw me off a bit. Thank you for the clarification!

but just to clarify, the only way to get an extension before it expires would be to go on the 29th, but if they’re closed I obviously can’t do that.

So midnight on the 30th would be when the day first begins.. so if I go in at 8 am on the 30th that is after midnight, wouldn’t that mean my visa is now expired?

I posted in another group and mostly so far everyone has said if I go on the 30th I’ll be fine, so I just want to be sure I’m clear on what you’re saying!

thank you! I live very close so getting there early isn’t an issue. The last time we had to go was also right after the holiday so I’m prepared!

Update your address/forward your mail before you go! I learned the hard way that sometimes they want you to come in person to show your ID.

Set up multiple two factor authentications on your important logins. That way if you don’t have access to your US number, you can still get in.

Make sure your cellphone is unlocked so you can get a SIM card

Go to AAA and get your international drivers permit. Takes like 30 minutes and only $20ish

Order new bank cards if any are expiring within the next year

Request medical records

Save yourself some money and just do it yourself at the immigration office. It’s o my 1900 baht, but if you go through an agent, it’s gonna cost you at least double the amount. It’s a simple process, just have to have patience. Overall, took about 1.5 hours to do for my entire family

Everyone here always wants to complicate it.. use

and keep it simple. It works, it’s legal, and is actually what many agencies recommend when applying for a visa before even purchasing your final tickets

The airline will ask you before you board your first flight. Our airline did not ask to see proof, only asked if we had one. We purchased “onward tickets” ahead of time to be safe. It’s only $12/person and saves you from having to purchase an actual airline ticket

They told us that technically we could just allow our children to overstay since there’s no fine you have to pay.. BUT it will be marked in their passports. The best solution that we could come up with was a multiple entry permit & do border runs for the children so that they don’t have an overstay. Our children are old enough to be put in school though so they’ll have their own education visa. I saw that you said your child is only 1. The school we were looking at has a nursery program and our youngest is 2. They told us with putting our youngest in nursery at the school, they can do a visa for him as well. So while a language school can’t do it, you may have options with an international school

thank you! any recommendations for online, besides marketplace? Like local sites? We’ve definitely found some just by walking. Looking for a house, but most of the agents focus on condos/high rises
