I contacted AIS customer services, was told need new SIM and number, due to 45 days elapsing since expiry.

I also transfer some GBP to my Thai bank in preparation for my return.

Best to open the account with card, at ATM in your own country now and then.

Sometimes I withdraw the minimum, just to get a balance and show I am still active.
