you been trying at the same Krung Thai branch over and over or somethin? Go to Bangkok bank and K bank. Act and dress respectable, and get a bank account. It's not hard.

that's if you wanna open on tourist visa or visa exempt. If you have a long stay visa, it's pretty straight forward with proof of residence letter from immigration. No agent needed

why do you park it with Wise for a minute? Why not just do a wise transfer from your US bank to your Thai bank in one go?

there are people here who entered on tourist visa who are trying to switch to O visa and are required to open an account to do it...

yeah. But people IN Thailand looking to switch to O retirement (not OA, which is obtained abroad) need a bank account.

O is regarding the retirement visa obtained IN the country, and OA is regarding the one obtained abroad. They have different requirements.
