My application was accepted last Thursday in Cambodia. Workation. I was worried about being asked for tax returns etc but that never happened. Flew in last Friday and was asked no questions. Stamped in for 6 months.
I have a few questions;
1. I'm considering doing a Bachelor's degree, potentially at a university in Thailand, possibly online with Open University. Would it be possible to do that on a DTV?
2. If I did do the degree here, I'd be working very little (online, with an employer based in another country) and getting support from my Thai partner. Would I still be expected to pay tax on the little that I earn?
3. Am I expected to register where I am staying? It seems a bit pointless, as one of the reasons to get a DTV is to live a semi-nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place. Who do I report this information to?
Yesterday afternoon two immigration officers visited my residence two weeks after my consideration stamp was approved and they had already visited while I was under consideration. I was irate as I felt it was an invasion of my family’s privacy and an unwarranted visit. My son was very sick, I had to cancel work as they asked to see personally and right away. They told my wife it was a random second check and they would visit a third time if a random check arised again threatening to take my passport and cancel my visa if I had not complied. I was close to losing my temper and I nearly video recorded their visit. I feel if their is a third visit next time I will video record the incident and go to the media as now my wife feels unsafe. I would just like to know if this is common practice or if they are targeting to harass us as we are a first time Non-O at their office and they have something against us for some unknown reason. I am sure a third visit would be an illegal practice?
I’m about to start my retirement renewal process next month after the first year. I have a pension income of 65,000+ baht going into my Bangkok bank months also the required bond in the bank for last 2 months so I have the option of both methods. What I’m worried about now if I use the pension proof ? Will it be taxed at 30% because it could be deemed an income. Most of this amount was tax exempt in UK due to tax threshold
Hi everyone! Just want to confirm if this one is good to go and I don’t have anything do after? I’m in the process of applying for an education visa to study thai and my language school asked me to forward them TM30 which is this one that I completed on the immigration’s website. Thanks for your inputs! 🙏
Hello all, I hold a retirement visa with multiple entry. I have been successfully reporting every 90 days online. However, I left Thailand for a trip to the USA in September for 2 weeks. Did I trigger some additional reporting requirement by leaving and returning to Thailand? If so, can I comply with Immigration reporting requirements by always staying the first night after a trip in a hotel? Or possibly comply by notifying the juristic person in the condo where I rent? Many thanks.
